This refers to braces or equipment that is designed for repeated use in the treatment of a medical ailment or injury. We can assist you with your DME ordering needs.
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers medically necessary durable medical equipment (DME) that doctors prescribe for use in your everyday use. Only a doctor can prescribe medical equipment for you. DME meets these criteria:
· Durable (can withstand repeated Use)
· Used for a medical reason including pain or injury
· Not usually useful to someone who was not sick or was not injured
· Used in your home & has an expected lifetime of at least 3 years
